Crowned World Champion for the first time in 1981 (i.e. the year of the introduction of 135cc engines), the Italian-Briton Mike Wilson (Birel-Komet) landed the second of his six supreme titles at Kalmar, in the south of Sweden. He finished ahead of his team-mate, Lars Forsman (Birel-Komet), although the latter was in his home land. Sweden’s Thomas Danielsson (Kali-PCR) completed the podium. (Video commented in Swedish)
