Verstappen starts on pole

Low clouds, gray and dark, but no rain, were the conditions at the start of the first KF2 qualifying session. Mark Litchfield (Zanardi / Parilla) moved into first position ahead of Vassiliy Roumanov (Energy / Parilla) and Dennis Olsen (Energy / TM). Sam MacLeod (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Nicklas Nylund (ART GP / Parilla) were behind Litchfield as he improved. The Belgian Kenny Vermeylen (Tecno / Parilla) joined in third position behind Olsen. Pole for Litchfield 1’11 » 301, 5/10 faster than Olsen, third was Roumanov, Nylund fourth, Paolo Ippolito (Kosmic / Vortex) fifth.

A light drizzle accompanied the second group without actually changing the limited grip of the track. Alberto Di Folco (Tony Kart / TM) led the way from Karol Dabski (Praga / Parilla). Alexander Hamilton (Intrepid / TM) took second ahead of Joni Ruuskanen (ART GP / Parilla). Late in the session, Ville Mäntylä (Energy / Parilla) replaced him with a time of 1’12 » 325, but Matthew Graham (Zanardi / Parilla) finally set 1’11 » 901 from Hamilton and Philo Paz (Tony Kart / Vortex).

The rain increased again for the third group. Ben Barnicoat (ART GP / Parilla), Sam Snell (Energy / Parilla) and Flavio Camponeschi (Tony Kart / Vortex) successively occupied pole ahead of Charles Leclerc (ART GP / Parilla) who linked a series of very fast laps . Barnicoat reacted, Leclerc replied on the last lap with 1’11 » 284, Barnicoat was 2nd, Snell 3rd, Camponeschi 4th.

If anyone was waiting for Max Verstappen (Intrepid / TM), they just had to wait for his first flying lap, the fastest time overall, two seconds ahead of his opponents in the fourth session with 1’11 » 172. impressive. Anthoine Hubert (Formula K / TM) came in second position by 1 second followed by Tom Joyner (LH / BMB) and Hubert Petit (Sodi / Parilla). Joyner moved up to second, but Hubert drove a great lap on the last lap and was close to 3/10 behind Max, wirh Joyner third, and Pajuranta fourth and Petit fifth.

The gap between the sessions slightly exceeded 101%, which would have Verstappen on pole ahead of Leclerc, Graham and Litchfield.
