Nolan Mantione (Birel / TM) started from pole in the prefinal of KZ2, but quickly retired and returned to the pits on the 2nd lap apparently after an overheating engine … Charles Fiault (Sodi / Maxter) took the lead, but was overtaken by Amos Mechoulam (DR / TM) who escaped more easily than Fiault who also retired, perhaps to save his tires. Behind the leader, Christophe Benoit (Birel / TM) and François Santoni (PCR / TM) were engaged in a long duel that ended in favor of Benoit, who also won the race after Mechoulam retired on the 11th lap.
