Bahrain, Thursday evening: first KFJ heats for Norris and Lorandi

Lando Norris (FA Kart / Vortex) immediately took the advantage from the first heat run in Bahrain, the Junior C against E. Jehan Daruvala (FA Kart / Vortex), was second and gradually closed on the leader, before they calmed down as Norris resisted. Niko Kari (FA Kart / Vortex) took 3rd place ahead of Leonardo Pulcini (Tony Kart / Vortex), who had the fastest lap, Thomas Bale (FA Kart / Vortex) finished 5th ahead of Benjamin Lessennes (Kosmic / Vortex) who lost places initially. Jules Bollier (Kosmic / Parilla) was 9th. Marcu Dionisios (CRG / TM) was hit at the start and retired.
Leonardo Lorandi (Tony Kart / Parilla) led from pole in heat B against D, closely followed by Danilo Albanese (Kosmic / Vortex). Nikita Mazepin (Tony Kart / Vortex) quickly defeated Giuliano Raucci (Energy / TM) for 3rd place, as well as Robert Shwartzman (Tony Kart / TM). After a bad start, Daniel Ticktum (FA Kart / Vortex) limited the damage by moving up to 11th. Albanese was an instant threat to the leader, but Lorandi finally settled it with a good lead of 1.3 » while Mazepin attacked Albanese but in vain. Raucci was 4th, Shwartzman 5th, Aron 6th, Aubry 7th, Elpitiya 8th and Vartanyan, the fastest of the heat, 9th.
