Federer takes the World KZ pole at Genk

Timed Qualifying of the KZ World Championship took place at late Friday afternoon at Genk. The result proved undecided until the last metres. Simo Puhakka (Tony Kart / Vortex), then Patrik Hajek (Kosmic / Vortex) made a name for themselves, but Fabian Federer (CRG / TM) finally set the fastest time: 52 »392, 0.124″ faster than Marijn Kremers (Birel ART / TM). Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM) finished in 5th place behind Hajek and Puhakka. Jorrit Pex (CRG / TM) only achieved 11th ahead of Alex Irlando (Sodi / TM). Jonathan Thonon (Birel ART / TM) finished 14th ahead of Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG / TM), Paolo De Conto (CRG / TM) was only 17th, behind Bas Lammers (Alpha / TM), and Jeremy Iglesias (Formula K / Vortex) was disappointed with his 20th time. For his debut in KZ, Christophe Adams (Sodi / TM), 30th, was less effective than in Free Practice.
