There were only eight last year in this first meeting of the WSK Master Series, while the entries went from 218 to 194, for an event run a month earlier in 2013, 2 weeks before the Winter Cup.
Of the 28 drivers in KZ2, Jérémy Iglesias (Lenzo / LKE) and Charly Bizalion (BRM / TM) will defend the colors of France with new equipment and a new team. KF (ex-KF2) has 47 including four French drivers: Valentin Moineault (ART GP / TM), Dorian Boccolacci (Energy / TM) up from KF3 and Paul Boutonnet (Zanardi / Parilla), the three young drivers also on new equipment at La Conca, while the experienced Armand Convers (Kosmic / Vortex) will be compared to the younger drivers after coming back to non-gearbox after three seasons in KZ.
As always, KFJ (ex-KF3) is most popular with 61 registered drivers. Again there are four French drivers, with Gabriel Aubry (Birel / TM), Arthur Lehouck (Lenzo / LKE), Julien Darras (Tony Kart / Vortex) and the newcomer Giulliano Alesi (Intrepid / TM), the only driver to run under this brand. Missing from the first published entry lists, Bryan Elpitiya (Zanardi / Parilla) is still alive and well in La Conca, bringing to 11 the number of french drivers at the meeting.
