The DD2 final saw timid sun at Campillos. The British Poleman Sean Babington (Tony Kart – Strawberry Racing) seemed more relaxed on the grid and was one of the last to sit in his seat while his rival, the Belgian Xen De Ruwe (ART GP – ART GP Team)  concentrated for long minutes behind the wheel. Although Babington was in an incident in the first practice lap, he was able to take his place before the red line. He still took the lead from the lights while De Ruwe dropped back during a crash. The French driver Anthony Abbasse (Sodi – Sodi) attacked the Spaniard Oriol Caballero (Tony Kart – Motor Club Deportivo Creixell) straight away for 2nd place. The Dane Michael E. Christiansen (Tony Kart – RS Competition) took the  advantage from Andreas Backman (Tony Kart – Strawberry Racing) for the 4th position. The Italian Alex Beggi (ART GP – Speed ??Motor Speed) was  sixth ahead of the Latvian Haralds Garkaklis (Gillard – MRG Racing) who we had not seen in such a high position so far.

The difference between Babington and Abbasse remained at around 6-7 tenths, Caballero retired and De Ruwe was back in the top 10. After halfway, Babington increased his lead to more than a second while Backman was 4/10 behind Abbasse. In 11th position, the French driver Guillaume Berteaux (Birel – Kartagene) dominated  DD2 Masters, two places ahead of Florent Lambert (Tony Kart –  Tatum), closely followed by Martin Pierce (Praga – Praga Racing Team). Backman was increasingly pressing Abbasse but Christiansen was back to  3rd. The battle for 2nd place during the final laps was lively but no one could challenge the supremacy of Babington this weekend. Abbasse maintained his second position ahead of Backman and Christiansen, who set the fastest time overall. Berteaux won  DD2 Masters ahead of Lambert and Pierce.
