KZ: Ardigo just ahead of Camponeschi on the clock

It was a suspenseful Qualifying session for the European Championship at Genk as the KZ drivers waited for the last moment to give the maximum. Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) took pole – 51 »216 – but Flavio Camponeschi (CRG / Parilla) moved up to 2nd position by only 3 thousandths, while Jorrit Pex (CRG / Vortex) finished 3rd by 17 thousandths. Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM) took a beautiful 4th place 36 thousandths from pole, closely followed by Patrik Hajek (Kosmic / Vortex), Paolo De Conto (CRG / TM) in 6th, and Bas Lammers (Sodi / TM) 7th within 5 hundredths. There was slight disappointment for Jérémy Iglesias (Sodi / TM) who would no doubt have done better than 11th with another lap.
