De Conto wins against Kremers

Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) did not take part in the Final of this second event of the European KZ Championship at Genk. Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM) took the lead in front of Marijn Kremers (Birel ART / TM) and Paolo De Conto (CRG / TM), who didn’t take long to take 2nd. Next the dominant De Conto took the lead, with Abbasse dropping to 4th behind Kremers and Stan Pex (CRG / TM). Pedro Hiltbrand (Tony Kart / Vortex) came back to 5th in front of Rick Dreezen (Birel ART / Vortex) who started from the front row. Kremers did not let De Conto escape, Patrik Hajek (Kosmic / Vortex) returned to 7th (+7 pl) followed by Simo Puhakka (Kosmic / Vortex).

The race continued without much change until the finish line approached. Kremers had a 5-tenth lead over 3rd, but he was no more than 3-tenths behind the leader and even attempted an attack two laps from the end. De Conto controlled the situation and won 0.172 » ahead of his brave rival. Stan Pex finished 3rd and Abbasse 4th while resisting the return of Hiltbrand. In 6th place, Hajek was the fastest in the race.
